Music Videos
Here are six Music Videos samples. The Geto Boys Video went number One on MTV and BET when it was first released. A few years later, Rolling Stone Magazine listed this video as the 33rd best video of all time and about fifteen after that, Stylus Magazine listed the video in the top 100 music Videos of all time. This video was a risk at the time for Rap Videos. This was the first MTV Rap video to have no Lip Sync. The label took a risk with my concept and well it paid off as the video pushed the album sales past Gold and then a few weeks later past Platinum.
There also is a Scarface Video "Now I Feel Ya" shown here. This is the short version of the video. The original video was over seven minutes and initially MTV asked us if we could make the video into a half hour special. We wrote the piece but the label did not fund the project.
The Prime Minister video was an uber low budget video produced by Chris "Play" Martin. I loved the fire and how we used it to tell the story. The roof shot was a little scarry as the building should have been condemned.
The Antonious Video was fun in that Antonious was very energetic and loved to act up in front of the camera. We show over five days in several location including a large abandoned concrete building.
The Chant Video "Corpus Christi" was a long one day shoot. The floating people were in a water tank we built in my back yard at 3:00 am. I am surprised my neighbors didn't call the cops with all the HMI's burning. There was a 20 foot tall fire wall we built for the video that was really cool but it did not make the edit... :(
