The dream of a Heights Community Garden is almost a core value for Mosaic Houston. We are looking for long term access or ownership of a plot of land to create a grid of personal garden spots. The Garden co-op will allow Heights residents to grow a select list of vegetables in the small plots provided. The co-op will provide training and seminars on how to maximize the productivity of these small gardens.

The Garden will include a Gazebo for co-op community gatherings and four different growing zones:

1) Green House for starting seedlings for the co-op members
2) Large Plots for families and Kindergarder classrooms
3) Small plots for individuals and couples
4) Potted Gardens for Herbs

The co-op will also provide a retail service of selling high quality produce to both the co-op members as well as the community. This service will return any and all profits to cover the cost of running the co-op.

This is a dream with many specific needs:

1) Land to convert to the garden
2) Finances to cover the initial construction of the Garden as well as the initial launch cost
3) A dedicated leader that is sold out to this project. (We already have a lead gardner to head up the community impact of this project.)
